Have you ever wondered why you have blonde hair, but both of your parents are brunettes? Maybe you've wondered why your blood type is different than a sibling? Or you have a unique genetic trait like being a "Supertaster" or "Sun Sneezer" that some people in your family have but others don't. This unit tells the story of how we inherit traits from our parents.
Unit 5 begins with part I of my interview with Paul Andersen of the Bozeman Science YouTube channel! We discussed his experiences with color vision deficiency. I shared a story with Paul about a "hard to believe" sequence of events that take place after a high school biology student learns they are color blind during a class lesson. The events threatened to break up a family, and almost cost a biology teacher their job.
